Bonneville Salt Flats Web Sites

This page is actually going to be used to introduce you to Bonneville Salt Flats racing through the web sites of the many, many race teams, automotive sponsors, motorcycle sponsors, parts, vendors, and even some racing organizations. This page is an ongoing effort, no attempt is being made to exclude anyone or draw attention to any one racing team, parts vendors, or organization. We would love to have your Bonneville Salt Flats or Land Speed Racing oriented web site featured here on BonnevilleRacing.com; all you need do is use our "Email Us" page and contact us with the details of your web site.

Now that we've established what this page, or collection of pages is about let's get to reviewing some of the web sites that make up the sport of Land Speed Racing. To preserve our sanity (and yours) we will list the web site by the name of the racing team, performance parts, vendors or racing organization that owns the web site and the list will be in alphabetical order.

BonnevilleRacing.com Racing Web Sites List #2

Bluebird Electric - This web site is dedicated to the Bluebird Land Speed Record Car, but it isn't the only information they have on their site. There is a goodly amount of information available concerning electric cars, and an especially good one from the historical aspect of electric cars. The page on electric cycles shows some interesting information about setting records with electric powered cycles. Last, but not least, the page titled 'Solar Cars' is worth visiting their web site just to see the vast array of links to web sites containing information on solar powered events, electric vehicle racing teams, organizations involved in electric vehicle development, and they even have a link available where you can find parts for electric cars.

East Coast Timing Association - The East Coast Timing Association was formed by two Bonneville racers, with the idea of providing its members with a place to run speed trials in the eastern half of the United States. We wanted to model it after the El Mirage dry lakes events, as this was closer to what might be possible back East. With dry lakes being non-existent east of the Mississippi, we began to look for an alternative. After an exhaustive search, a seldom-used World War II air base runway was located in Maxton, North Carolina. It now provides the race course for our events. The race course length, at one mile, is only slightly less than El Mirage. It has a hard concrete surface with considerably greater traction than the slippery salt of Bonneville, and with the elevation of 210 feet above sea level it produces similar speeds to El Mirage. With that, speed trials were reintroduced to the East.

Land speed racing is not just a long drag race. The rules for land speed racing are quite different and very liberal in comparison to other forms of motor sports. Safety is of primary concern, and the ECTA hosts some of the safest racing around.

Land Speed Racing Video - This web site offers up the work of Mark Brazeau, S.C.T.A. Official Photographer, Covering Bonneville, El Mirage and Muroc since 1989. Offering 30+ videos covering the following subjects:

Nebulous Theorem II - The Costella & Yacoucci land speed streamliner is billed as the "World's Fastest 4 Cylinder". The team uses a turbocharged, fuel injected and intercooled engine based on a Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle engine utilizing several engine displacements such as 1520cc, 1360cc, 1000cc 750cc and 500cc. They have an impressive page of video clips that includes their runs exceeding 340 miles per hour. If you are a 4 cylinder land speed racer then this is one successful race team that you will want to check out.

Race Deck Racing - The producer of Race Deck Garage Floors is also the company behind the Fastest 4 Cylinder Roadster On The Planet. Their record of 196.880 mph on 2004 has given Race Deck the bragging rights to be not only the fastest 4 cylinder street roadster but also the fastest 4 cylinder production vehicles ont he planet.

RB Racing - If you are in search of air induction, fuel injection, or exhaust technology for Harley and other motorcycle powered land speed racers then this is the site you need to visit first. BP Racing develops and sells products tested at 200 mph and more on the Bonneville Salt Flats as well as the drag racing motorcycles. Here you will find products for Harleys, Harley exhaust systems, turbocharger kits, fuel injection, AIC 400 addition fuel injectors, brakes, wastegates, intercoolers, and even electric turbo scavenge pumps.

Team 608 - This is without a doubt one of the most unique land speed racing web sites you will encounter. The goal of the Team 608 car is to break the current land speed record for their class (A/GL) by going over 300 mph. But that isn't their only goal during this attempted new land speed record attempt. As indicated on their web site, this goal is to go 300 mph and raise $300 per mile per hour for cancer research. There are several key sponsors to date, Montrose Molders Corporation (custom injection molders), GP Resources (a full service contract manufacturing corporation), along with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the American Cancer Society. When you visit the site be sure to click on the link for Rob Gibby so that you can make a donation to this worthy endeavor where 100% of the donations go to cancer research.
