Maxx2Racing is pleased to announce the addition of our newest team member, Steve Hodge.
Steve hails from Grand Blanc, MI, and has over 20 years of racing experience to bring to our team. From dirt bikes to drag bikes, drag strips to short tracks, and even a bit of street racing thrown in, Hodge is no stranger to racing.
We first met the new M2 Team Member at the April Maxton Mile event, this after several months of corresponding with Steve. Hodge, a Senior Designer in the automotive industry, became more involved with the project as the season progressed. Steve calls himself a ‘Ford Nut’, and also campaigns a ’66 Mustang at the local drag strips in Michigan. Hodgeman, as he is called by those who know him best, is at home at any race venue, and any pit area he visits. Although new to the LSR community, he is looking forward to making new friends, as well as gaining the respect of the LSR community.
Says Hodge, “As a kid growing up in Flint, MI, I was always into cars, motorcycles, and racing. I can remember drawing pictures of Gary Gabelich and the Blue Flame. As my racing adventures took me through different stages, the thirst for speed has always remained. As the newest member of Maxx2Racing, a longtime goal is now in sight and within reach.”
Hodgeman, aged 45, and his wife of 21 years, Brandy, have 2 daughters, Morgan and Shelby.
With some key contacts that he hopes to bring on board, he says announcements are soon to follow as agreements are solidified. “We are definitely looking for sponsors to complement our team and our marketing strategy. We feel we are an excellent venue to showcase our marketing partners and their products.”

Daryl White, Engine Builder for the ’Bad Bird’, set the AA/GCT record at 205.88 running against the old record of 205.11. 'DW' has now entered the ECTA 200 MPH Club, as he set a record at or above 200 mph at an ECTA-sanctioned event. That gives the driver the right to wear the prestigious “Green Hat”.

MAXX2RACING was formed in 2005, and started our long search for a motor that could propel the car to what became the stated goal of the Maxx2Racing (M2) Team Members. The motor was professionally hand built by Daryl White (aka ‘DW’), owner of Revolutionary Performance and Machine.
Our newest sponsor on the MAXX2RACING Land Speed Race Car is Royal Purple Synthetic Lubricants. This significant sponsorship was recently announced, and we look forward to our association with this great company.

We have asked for input from all of our sponsors and suppliers for possibly assisting groups and/or charities with helping out with their funding. We are pleased and honored to welcome Pershing County Students “Mustang Money”, a group here in the area. Budget cuts have affected each and every High School program, and this will help close the gaps of those budget cuts. Their ‘Logo’ will be proudly displayed on this ’Record Setting’ race car. We will have their information packets available at our M2 Pit areas at each event the car is entered at, which includes a self addressed stamped envelope and forms for contributions. It’s the responsibility of those who want to contribute to make sure the organizations(s) receive the funding amounts. It also brings exposure to the project, which any race team needs.
The car and race team are in honor of our long time Maltese puppy, MAXX, and although she passed away in 2008, Judy and I continue to honor her with the team name, and the car number 6299, which is MAXX if you look at your computer keyboard.
